There are no "exchanges" on which spot Forex is traded, so there are no opening or closing "bells" to signal the beginning and end of trading each day. Trading continues around the clock in every market. Market opens Monday morning New Zealand time, and closes Friday afternoon New York time.

In every market, the pace of Forex trading activity --- what we call trading volume --- rises and falls each day according to a repeating pattern. Generally, in each market, most of each days trading volume occurs during "regular business hours" in that market.

Specifically, trading volume rises dramatically at about 8am local time in each market, and then trails off significantly in the afternoon. It is
estimated that more than 85% of all the trading volume occurring in a 24-hour period occurs in the 9 hours between 8am and 5pm each day in each market.

Therefore, this application uses 8am-5pm, local time, as the "trading session" in each market. You can customize the opening and closing times in each country to your personal trading style/strategy. With the ability to customize the open/close time in each country down to the minute, this is the one and only Forex Hours app you will need.
